Speaker: Julie A. Welch (Runtz), CPA, PFS CFP®, AEP (Distinguished), (julie@mwbpc.com), a partner/shareholder with Meara Welch Browne, P.C., is the Director of the firm’s tax department. She earned her B.S. in Accounting and Business Administration from William Jewell College and her Master of Science in Accounting with a Taxation Focus from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She received the AICPA Sid Kess Award for Excellence in Continuing Education in 2015 and the UMKC Alumni Achievement Award for 1999. She served on the AICPA’s planning committee for the “Tax Planning Strategies for the High-Income Individual” conference, where she is also a frequent speaker. She also served on the AICPA’s Personal Financial Planning Executive Committee and currently serves on the Kansas City Estate Planning Symposium Committee. She has written articles for several publications, including the Journal of Financial Planning, the Practical Accountant, and CPA Magazine. She co-authored and published 101 Tax Saving Ideas, soon to be in its Eleventh Edition.
